BIG NEWS from the State House. Governor Healey signed Executive Order 650 on Jan 29, 2026:

  • Limits new 287(g) agreements
  • Bans ICE from making civil arrests in state facilities
  • Prohibits use of state property for ICE staging areas
The Governor also filed legislation as part of the FY’26 supplemental budget.
In addition, legislation called the PROTECT Act was filed to protect the rights of targeted immigrants.
