>> The ACLU of MA has invited Task Force members to participate in a virtual convening to learn about Welcoming Communities and to share experiences, hear from local advocates and strategize possible future campaigns on March 11, 2021 – 9am to 12pm.   share experiences, hear from local advocates and strategize possible future campaigns.  The ACLU of Massachusetts, together with MIRA and Northeastern University have been tracking municipalities that are passing pro-immigrant policies and what this movement portends for advocacy in Massachusetts. This virtual convening brings together advocates to share their experiences and includes a working session to discuss strategies for possible municipal campaigns. We will focus on policies that disentangle local resources from federal immigration enforcement.

Although the Biden/Harris administration has taken steps in the right direction, we do not expect deportations to stop. And, sadly, the reliance on municipalities is likely to continue, as it ramped up under the Obama administration. There’s much work to be done in our cities and towns to welcome and protect immigrants, and we hope you can join us to learn from each other!  Reservation required for this free event. https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https%3a%2f%2faction.aclu.org%2fwebform%2fwelcoming-communities-convening-massachusetts&c=E,1,C1IR9BkI9sCtPahDUGv-OKfF1ks1BK3iYdxwLEs8eGJV6mnRxqxgzhUNg9DBoUFS8jjNZAWwGvl94fFgZUFRvhBNq39bnfNnnENQ2O6RSg,,&typo=1
