The Shifting Sands of Immigrant Rights: From the Border to Boston (Lane Lyceum)
November 17, 2019 @ 9:15 am - 10:15 am
How do this administration’s changes to immigration law and policy impact migrants at the border? How do they affect noncitizens in Boston? How have these actions been challenged, and what can be done to help? We will be discussing how these policies and practices affect humans seeking safety in the United States. There will be a few short videos and an opportunity for questions.
Heather Yountz is an immigration attorney in Cambridge who has been involved in several high-profile immigration cases. She recently volunteered in Tijuana with migrants seeking asylum at the border, and she plans to return to the border in the coming months.
