Immigration Justice Community Forum

Join TBS Tzedek as we present speakers from Unitarian Universalist Mass Action (part of the Safe Communities Coalition) and Agencia Alpha, an educational, social service and advocacy organization for the immigrant community in Boston. They will present an overview of current legislation and will share their stories about the impact of federal immigration policy in their lives. A Q&A session will follow the speakers. There will be an opportunity for participants to engage in an advocacy action during this event.

The format will be roughly (a work in progress) :
10 min: Overview of the current situation, policy impact on local families
15 min: Personal testimony from an immigrant neighbor
15 Min: Legislative Overview – focused on Safe Communities Act, will include info about the driving bill
15 min: Participant Q & A
10 min: ways to take action;
10 min: engage in a group action, such as postcard writing*10 min: commitments and close
* may not be postcard writing–depends on what is happening legislatively and what has happened, already, over the month of December
