The next forum in the Needham Human Rights Series, “Immigration Detainers and

Why We Need the Safe Communities Act” will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2-4 pm at the Needham Public Library, 1139 Highland Avenue.

The panel will end with suggestions for getting involved to make a difference.

Panelists include Howard Silverman, partner in RSST Law Group, liaison with ICE for New England Chapter, American Immigration Lawyers Association; Amy Grunder, Director of Legislative Affairs, Mass. Immigration and Refugee Advocacy Coalition; and Gerald Rovner, immigration attorney and Vice-Chair of the Needham Area Immigration Justice Task Force.

The Needham Human Rights Series is co-sponsored by Progressive Needham, the League of Women Voters of Needham, and the Needham Area Immigration Justice Task Force. All series events are free and open to the public. For information email susan@progressiveneedham.com.
